About Nerissa // Bay Design Co.
I’ve always been deeply influenced by nature, space, and the way environments shape how we feel.
Being around horses, open land, and natural textures has taught me to notice subtle shifts — in energy, movement, and stillness. That awareness naturally became part of how I approach interiors, styling, and spatial design.
I studied Interior Design through the Interior Design Institute, where I developed my technical understanding of spatial planning, design principles, and residential interiors — alongside years of hands-on experience in renovation, property styling, and lifestyle photoshoot styling.
Bay Design Co is where all of this comes together.
It is a design studio focused on creating interiors and environments that feel calm, intentional, and connected — whether that is a home, an Airbnb, or a visual space for photography and storytelling.
My Approach
I don’t begin with trends or decoration.
I begin with how a space feels and functions.
How it flows. How it holds light. How it supports daily movement and emotional ease. How it either feels grounded or visually fragmented.
My work sits between practical interior design and visual storytelling — combining spatial planning, styling, and atmosphere.

Bay Design Co was shaped through lived experience — not just study.
Through working with homes, renovations, and styled environments, I noticed a consistent pattern:
People were surrounded by beautiful things, but still didn’t feel connected to their space.
Something was missing — not in objects, but in cohesion, flow, and clarity.
This is where Bay Design Co began — a way of designing that brings together function, feeling, and visual storytelling.

Through a collaborative process, you’ll explore design concepts, layouts, and material selections, refining every detail until your space feels complete.
Want more hands-on support? Additional hours can be booked for sourcing trips, sample selections, or to have your space fully styled and ready for you to step into.

At Bay Design Co, our design process is a thoughtful journey that honours your vision, lifestyle, and the energy you wish to cultivate. Each phase brings clarity, creativity, and confidence to your experience.
PHASE 01. / ALIGN & INSPIRE
The journey begins with a conversation. Reach out to arrange a complimentary discovery call with Nerissa, where we’ll discuss your project, your vision, and the best approach to bring it to life. After our call, you’ll receive a confirmation email outlining service inclusions, costs, and a clear roadmap of what to expect.
PHASE 02. / CONSULTATION & CONCEPT
Once your service is confirmed, we’ll schedule an in-depth onsite consultation. This is where we immerse ourselves in your space, discussing design aesthetics, layout possibilities, and key selections. Together, we’ll define the core elements of your project, ensuring everything aligns with your personal style and functional needs.
PHASE 03. / DESIGN VISION DEVELOPMENT
With a clear direction in place, conceptualisation begins. Nerissa will create a thoughtfully tailored styling and design documentation package, which includes mood boards, specifications, floor plans, and supplier recommendations. A follow-up meeting will be arranged to review and refine your selections, ensuring everything resonates with your vision before moving forward.
PHASE 04. / PROJECT COMPLETION & REVEAL
Your comprehensive documentation package will be delivered via email, providing everything you need to bring your dream space to life. We’ll meet again to review your selections, ensuring you have the clarity and confidence to implement the recommendations at your own pace.
